Living Planet Report 2008.

Our great planet is exhausted. It's exhausted to deal with us, sub-human beings. If you didn't know already the news it's just because it's TOP SECRET. Nobody wants you (and me) to know about the health conditions of the planet Earth that patiently guests us since a long long time ago. I don't think television and traditional media cared very much, during the past 40 years, to inform people about the real risk we are going to face in a few years. I know there's Discovery Channel or National Geographic but year after year they're more and more entertainment than information, you see that. What i mean for information is the first of the titles of national news edition in which someone of these great WWF guys goes and explain the world that the planet's resources are gonna finish by 2030. If this news is authentic why are we talking about bullshits everyday? Why we are still not sure that Obama is gonna triumph with 95% of votes? Because the majority of the people with whom you share this environment don't give a f..k about that. Maybe most of us are sure we can buy another Earth when we'll finish this one. I hope we gonna find the money full of debts as we are it would be very difficult. That's why i invite you to take a look at the "WWF - Living Planet Report 2008", you can easily find it on google. It's very nice and colored and explains the cruel reality in a joyful and full of hope way. Because the most important message that the report brings is that changing our life style we can all together save our planet. I mean it's the greatest engagement anyone of us can take or not, but for sure, we all need, our planet needs, God need, us to change our whole modern mentality, scale of values, relationship with money and so on...
From the report: "Humanity’s demand on the planet has more than doubled over the past 45 years as a result of population growth and increasing individual consumption. In 1961, almost all countries in the world had more than enough capacity to meet their own demand; by 2005, the situation had changed radically, with many countries able to meet their needs only by importing resources from other nations and by using the global atmosphere as a dumping ground for carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. In an overexploited world, ecological debtor nations are particularly at risk from local and global overshoot, and from the associated decline in ecosystem services, the life support system on which humanity depends". Not so hopeful i know. I found very interesting the Ecological Footprint of Nations, index measuring humanity's demand of the biosphere in area of biologically productive land and sea required to provide the resources we use and to absorb our waste. Winner as the worst of the planet's enemies is the United Arab Emirates, 2nd United States of America, 3rd Kuwait, 4th Denmark (?!?!?!), 5th Australia, than New Zealand, Canada, Norway, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Italy (28th), Germany (34th), Mexico (43th), Brazil (65th), China (74th)....Right away after you can see another graphic showing the Bio-Capacity per Person by County. In this case Gabon is the champion, Canada is the 2nd, Bolivia, Australia, Mongolia, New Zeland...
Another very interesting index is the Water Footprint of Consumption that is the total volume of water used globally to produce the goods and services consumed by its inhabitants. It includes water withdrawn from rivers, lakes and aquifers (surface and ground water) that is used in agriculture, industry and for domestic purposes, as well as the water from rainfall that is used to grow crops: 1st United States, 2nd Greece, 3rd Malaysia, 4th Italy, 5th Spain....
Honestly, you can find in the report many others very interesting informations, and above all you can start and individuate the countries more responsible for these last disastrous 40 years. WWF confirm that the bad causes of the environment damages are recently created by humans, that's why, again, changing, we can gift our kids with a better world, or at least with a world. Thank you for your time and attention.
